Ask anyone where saffron comes from and they will say Spain. Spain grows almost none of it. Iran grows more than eighty five percent of the world supply, ships it west in bulk, and it comes out the other side in a Spanish tin.
The most expensive spice on earth and most people have never seen where it actually grows.
