The industrial chicken barn is a sealed box
The industrial chicken barn is a sealed box. Forty thousand birds, one ventilation system, no soil, no sky, no other species in the room. That isolation is the entire business model.
Our two hundred and fifty Freedom Rangers will live in the exact opposite arrangement. The fourteen by forty hoop you see here rolls forward every two days onto fresh pasture, and on both sides of that pasture are rows of young chestnuts and food forest plantings that get fed for years to come by the manure those birds leave behind. The chickens build the soil. The soil builds the trees. The trees, eventually, drop nuts that future flocks will forage under their own canopy.
One piece of land doing five jobs at once, every output of one system becoming the input of the next. That is the only reason a small farm can compete with industrial scale on anything that actually matters.
Save this if you have ever wondered what regenerative actually looks like in practice, and tell us in the comments which system you would build first on your own land.
