Everybody thinks they know what this plant is for
Everybody thinks they know what this plant is for. Most people are wrong....
This is hemp, and I just hand sowed a variety called Han Ne for fiber and grain only, the same way this crop fed and clothed people for thousands of years before anyone argued about it.
No CBD, no drama, just one of the most useful plants on earth doing what it does best. The seed feeds soil and livestock, and the stalk gives you fiber for rope, cloth, paper, building material, and a dozen things most people never stop to think about.
Here is the part that surprises folks. Most of this crop is going right back into the ground as compost and biomass, building the soil for everything I grow after it. Nothing on this farm gets wasted, it just changes form.
The fiber that does not go to compost is where I am looking for partners. If you work with natural fiber, textiles, cordage, paper, hempcrete, or you have ever wanted to get your hands on locally grown fiber, reach out and let's build something.
So tell me in the comments, what would you make if you had a whole field of hemp fiber to work with. I have a feeling some of you are going to surprise me.
